Ellyn Pretorius is a painter and printmaker based in Cape Town, exploring themes surrounding architectural memory and para-fictions. Ellyn completed her BA in History, Linguistics, and Psychology in 2011 at the University of Stellenbosch as well as a PGCE the following year.
After a career in senior phase education, she studied Fine Art at the Ruth Prowse School of Art, majoring in printmaking. Ellyn Pretorius has participated in various local exhibitions and participated in the Edition/Basel 2022 residency in Switzerland.
Other interests include trivia, cat watching, and colour-coded to-do-lists.
